About Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese medicine is the worlds largest drug free health care therapy. Practiced in China for thousands of years it is now used by over a quarter of the worlds population. It is a comprehensive medical system with its own diagnostic methods, principles and therapies.

Good health results from a balanced flow of energy through the body within a system of channels or meridians. We believe that disease is caused by energy imbalances within these channels. The aim of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture is to harmonise and regulate them and the Qi that flows in them. The T.C.M practitioner relies on traditional diagnostic skills, these include tongue and pulse diagnosis. This allows the practitioner to see the energy imbalance in any of the meridians and tailor thier treatment to the individual.
